Porch Sittin' — Americana Delft Icon Tile

Some of the best moments happen on the front porch.

Our Porch Sittin' icon tile features a classic rocking chair, a simple symbol of slow evenings, open windows, and conversations that stretch long after the sun goes down. Hand-painted in cobalt oxide on an ivory ceramic tile, the illustration captures the easy rhythm of American porch culture. Whether it reminds you of a grandparent’s house, summer nights with neighbors, or your own quiet morning coffee, the rocking chair is a small but powerful image of home.

Part of our Americana Delft collection, this tile draws inspiration from the historic Delft tradition of capturing everyday life in small painted scenes. The familiar rocking chair becomes our American version of that storytelling, celebrating the places and rituals that make a house feel lived in.

Designers love scattering icon tiles like this throughout a backsplash or feature wall, creating a space that feels collected and personal. Paired with our matching Americana Delft plain field tile, Porch Sittin' adds a moment of quiet charm within a field of ivory tile.

Handmade Variation

Every Americana Delft tile is individually painted by hand in our Nashville studio. Because each icon is created with a brush and cobalt oxide, natural variations are part of the character of the collection. Brushstrokes may appear slightly lighter or deeper in tone, and small differences in linework or detailing may occur from tile to tile. These subtle variations reflect the hand of the artist and ensure that every installation has the warmth and authenticity of true hand-painted tile.
