Line Dried

Line Dried — Americana Delft Icon Tile

A small scene from everyday life.

Our Line Dried icon tile captures a familiar American ritual: freshly washed laundry hanging on a clothesline, moving gently in the breeze. Hand-painted with cobalt brush strokes on an ivory ceramic tile, the image is simple and timeless. For some it recalls childhood summers, backyard chore days, or the quiet satisfaction of a clean load of sheets drying in the sun.

Part of our Americana Delft collection, this tile draws inspiration from the historic Delft tradition of painting scenes from daily life. In the same way early Delft tiles captured windmills, farms, and village work, Line Dried celebrates an ordinary moment that feels deeply rooted in home and memory.

Designers love scattering icon tiles like this throughout a backsplash or feature wall to create a collected, storytelling effect. Paired with our matching Americana Delft plain field tile, Line Dried adds a touch of warmth and familiarity within a field of ivory tile.

Handmade Variation

Every Americana Delft tile is individually painted by hand in our Nashville studio. Because each icon is created with a brush and cobalt oxide, natural variations are part of the character of the collection. Brushstrokes may appear slightly lighter or deeper in tone, and small differences in linework or detailing may occur from tile to tile. These subtle variations reflect the hand of the artist and ensure that every installation has the warmth and authenticity of true hand-painted tile.

Every Americana Delft tile is painted to order, continuing a centuries-old craft tradition while telling a uniquely American story. Custom icon requests are always welcome.
