Biography

Susan Meacham

Susan grew up in Charleston, Illinois and studied architecture at University of Illinois in Champaign and Chicago. Susan is a licenced architect and has worked on residential and commercial projects from San Diego, California to Charleston, Illinois. Susan has always had a love for tile and has specified many tile and stone installations in her work. Susan has a passion for design and loves to create new installation concepts. If you stop by the office you can find her doing everything from approving orders, to assisting customers on the phone, to handling all of the companies accounting. When Susan isn't working at the tileworks you can find her in the kitchen, sampling new recipes from around the world or creating her own.

Howard Meacham

Howard is originally from Manitowok, WI but studied architecture and business at the University of Illinois in Champaign. Howard has had a varied career from working on commercial and condominium developments in Southern California, to founding and managing several manufacturing operations. Howard is always thinking about the big picture and lends his architectural background, as well as his business savvy mind to the tileworks. If you give us a ring you will usually speak with Howard first. Howard values customer interaction and loves to strategize on how we can grow and provide the best handmade tile product available. When Howard isn't working hard at the tileworks you can find him following University of Illinois sports and the Packers.

Lindsay McLean

Lindsay is Howard and Susan's oldest daughter and a ceramic enthusiast. Lindsay always knew that she wanted to be a ceramic artist and found tile the perfect way to showcase her work. Lindsay studied ceramics and anthropology at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. After school she combined her talent with her parents to create Red Rock Tileworks. Lindsay loves design and creates all of the tileworks marketing material as well as collaborating with her parents on new tile designs. When Lindsay isn't overseeing production you can find her outdoors. Lindsay loves to ski, canoe, and dance.

Joe McLean

Joe is originally from Wauseon, Ohio and the Ann Arbor, Michigan area. Joe studied marketing at University of Cincinnati. Joe is very mathematically inclined and has adapted his precision to formulating all of the glazes at the tileworks. If there is a custom match project or new color development is needed, Joe is hard at work creating hundreds of tests to hone in on the perfect shade. Joe can also be found assisting customers on the phone and helping Susan with accounting. When Joe isn't making and formulating glaze you can find him playing guitar and dobro. As an accomplished musician, Joe has traveled the country playing music festivals and concert venues. Joe also enjoys spending time with his family and eating yummy food.
